SBCC finished third out of 18 schools in the Western State Conference Supremacy competition for the 2016-17 athletic season.
L.A. Mission won its first-ever Supremacy title with a 7.0 average in four sports. Ventura was second with a 6.79 average in 18 sports and the Vaqueros took third with a 6.21 average in 18 sports.

SBCC has finished in the Top 5 of the WSC Supremacy standings for 10 straight years.
Moorpark was fourth in the 18-school competition with a 6.07 average, followed by Citrus (5.47), Cuesta (5.40), Canyons (5.35) and Glendale (5.13). Athletic department GPA's are also included in the point total.
Ventura won eight WSC championships while the Vaqueros claimed five. Santa Barbara won WSC titles in Women's Golf, Women's Water Polo, Women's Volleyball, Baseball and Women's Swimming & Diving.
Four SBCC women's teams made the State Final Four, the highest number in one season in school history. The foursome were Women's Water Polo, Women's Soccer, Women's Golf and Women's Swimming & Diving. Women's Water Polo and Women's Golf finished second in the State, Women's Soccer was third and Women's Swim & Dive took fourth for the second straight year.
The Vaqueros had two State champions. Carolin Chang won her second straight individual state golf title in the fall and Gina Jacobson captured the school's first state diving title in the spring, setting a state record in the 1-meter springboard with 246.85 points.
Eighty-three Vaquero student-athletes were named to All-WSC teams with seven earning All-American honors and five making All-State. There were four WSC Players of the Year -- Chang (Women's Golf), Carolyn Andrulis (Women's VB), Addison Seale (Women's Water Polo) and John Jensen (Baseball).
Four coaches received five WSC Coach of the Year honors -- Ed Gover (Women's VB), Chuckie Roth (Women's Water Polo and Women's Swim & Dive), Chuck Melendez (Women's Golf) and Jeff Walker (Baseball).
