Five SBCC student-athletes were honored as College Players of the Year by the Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table. They received their awards on Wednesday night at the Victoria Theater during the SBART's annual Evening with the Athletes.
The Vaquero award winners were Victor Chavez (men's soccer), Kat Sheehy (women's soccer), Manny Nwosu (football), Emma Fraser (women's water polo) and Vanessa Watkins (women's golf).
John Sisterson, who guided the SBCC men's and women's soccer teams to undefeated regular seasons (combined 32-0-5) and the women to the State final, was named College Coach of the Year. Hannah Rogers of women's basketball received the SBART Louise Lowry Davis Inspirational Award.
