SBCC took second in the 2017-18 Western State Conference Supremacy standings, falling two points short of Ventura.
Ventura won its 20th WSC Supremacy title and first since the 2012-13 season. The Pirates won three WSC titles and totaled 125 points for a 6.58 average. The Vaqueros claimed six WSC championships and finished with 123 points for a 6.47 average.

Moorpark was third in the 18-school competition at 6.07 points, followed by Canyons (6.06), L.A. Mission (4.83), Bakersfield (4.78) and Glendale (4.73).
The SBCC women's teams were No. 1 in the conference with 67 points. Ventura was second with 61 points and Bakersfield had 59.
The Vaqueros have finished in the top 5 of the WSC Supremacy standings for 11 straight years. SBCC scored in 15 of the 21 categories encompassing 18 sports (football and wrestling aren't included in the WSC Supremacy).
The athletic department's overall GPA is also factored in and the Vaqueros had the second-highest GPA of 3.12.
Santa Barbara won a State Championship in Women's Water Polo, took second in Women's Soccer, third in Women's Golf, fifth in Men's Soccer and seventh in Women's Swimming & Diving. The Vaqueros won WSC titles in Men's & Women's Soccer, Women's Water Polo, Women's Golf, Women's Volleyball and Women's Swimming & Diving.
SBCC had 87 student-athletes named to All-WSC teams. Ten earned All-American honors and 10 more made All-State.
The Vaqueros had five WSC Players of the Year -- Victor Chavez (Men's Soccer), Katherine Sheehy (Women's Soccer), Emma Fraser (Women's Water Polo), Kaylene Ureno (Women's VB) and Kelee Shimizu (Women's Swimming & Diving). Fraser was also the MVP of the State Tournament.
