Ian Clark tossed a five-hitter for his first complete game on Friday, leading SBCC to a 7-2 WSC North baseball win over Hancock in Santa Maria.

The 6-6 sophomore right-hander from Danville, Calif., held the Bulldogs to two runs on five hits with six strikeouts and no walks. He faced 32 batters, just five over the minimum.

Michael Montpas went 3-5 with an RBI and Chris Smutny was 2-4 with a two-run single that capped a five-run seventh inning for the Vaqueros (10-10, 7-4).

SBCC went 3-0 for the week and is tied for first in conference with Cuesta, one game ahead of Ventura.

Hancock (11-10, 5-6) took a 2-0 lead with single runs in the first and fourth. The Vaqueros erupted for five in the seventh and added a run in the eighth and another in the ninth.

Morgan Lomax walked in the eighth, then stole second and third. He scored on an error after stealing third to make it 6-2.

The Vaqueros will play nonconference games on Tuesday at El Camino and Wednesday at No. 6 Riverside.
