No. 10 El Camino edges Vaqueros 4-3

Cassius Hamm tossed two-run ball for five innings on Tuesday and Zack Ferreira hit a solo homer, leading No. 10 El Camino to a 4-3 win over SBCC in a nonconference baseball game in Torrance.

The Vaqueros fell to 10-11 while the Warriors improved to 14-6.

Michael Montpas and Chris Smutny both went 2-4 for Santa Barbara and Connor Clark was 2-5 with an RBI groundout in the ninth. Noah Barba's RBI groundout in the fourth gave the Warriors a 4-2 lead.

Davis Messer (1-5) took the loss, giving up four runs on seven hits in 3 2/3 innings.

Jake Gagain had an RBI single in the first for the Vaqueros and Smutny drove in a run with a one-out single in the second that scored Wesley Ghan-Gibson.

SBCC travels to Riverside, ranked No. 11 in Southern Cal, on Wednesday for a 2:30 p.m. contest.
