Kevin Almlie

This is the sixth year at SBCC and 11th overall for Coach Almlie. He coached the cornerbacks at his alma mater, Western Illinois, in 2012 and at Missouri Southern in 2011. Almlie spent 2008 through 2010 at Western Illinois.

During the 2010 season, Almlie was part of a Western Illinois program that returned to the NCAA playoffs after a seven-year hiatus, advancing to the second round. He worked with a secondary unit that led the Missouri Valley Football Conference in passing defense, good for 23rd nationally.

A two-year starter at corner and free safety for the Leathernecks, Almlie ranked second among the defensive backs, recording 50 tackles in his senior year. He earned the Coaches' Appreciation Award that year.

A native of Novato, Calif., Almlie is the son of Jim and Sue Almlie. He has an older brother, Peter, who is also a football coach. Kevin was a two-time first-team All-NorCal Conference choice at Santa Rosa JC and helped lead Novato High School to a 13-0 season and a California North Coast Section championship.
