Orange Coast had the upper hand in shooting and rebounding on Friday as the Pirates downed SBCC 81-62 in the consolation semifinals of the Glendale Tournament.
OCC (3-8) outshot Santa Barbara 48.5 to 34 percent and won the board battle 49-27. Jamaal Lee paced the Pirates with 16 points, 15 rebounds and seven assists. Orange Coast led 43-28 at the half.
Robert Hutchins topped the Vaqueros (4-9) with 17 points, including a trio of 3-pointers. Evan Tillman added 15 points and five rebounds while Martin Pedersen scored 10. Tejon Williams, the Vaqueros' best scorer at 13.8 ppg, was held to a season-low four points on 1-6 shooting. Williams had seven assists and five rebounds.
After the Christmas break, the Vaqueros will travel to Long Beach for their final nonconference game on Wednesday, Dec. 30 at 5 p.m.
