Zeke McMurtry recorded his sixth straight double-double with 23 points and 10 rebounds on Wednesday night but it wasn't enough as SBCC fell to Oxnard 93-76 in the Coaches vs. Cancer game at the Sports Pavilion.
Joseph Holden canned 5-9 from 3-point range and tied his season best with 22 points for the Vaqueros (3-19, 0-5 WSC North). Jacob Williams added season highs of 13 points and six rebounds.
McMurtry, the No. 3 rebounder in the state at 11.6 per game, has 11 double-doubles in 17 games. He took over the Vaquero scoring lead from Kile Kleiner, McMurtry is averaging 16.9 points a game and Kleiner 16.6.
Kleiner scored 10 points, giving the Vaqueros four players in double figures.
William Blue and Kirvaris Myricks combined for 50 points for Oxnard (5-15, 1-4). Blue hit 6-10 from 3-point country and scored 19 of his game-high 27 in the first half. Myricks made 9-13 from the field and collected 23 points, seven rebounds and five assists.

The Condors shot 56.3% in the first half and led 43-41. The Vaqueros (3-19, 0-5) hit 7-14 from downtown in the opening half and made a season-best 13-of-26 (50%) for the game.
"We had a good first half and really shared the basketball that created some energy for us," said Vaquero coach Morris Hodges. "Our shot selection wasn't as good in the second half and our defense really broke down on step-ups on drives. They were getting a lot of layups."
Oxnard outscored the Vaqueros 50-35 in the second half.
After Holden tied the game at 47 with a 3-pointer, the Condors took control with a 14-4 burst that gave them a 61-49 advantage with 14:02 to play. The Vaqueros got within five (70-65) when McMurtry hit a 10-foot jumper but the Condors responded with a 15-2 run to expand the margin to 18 points (85-67).
"They picked up the intensity of their defense in the second half and extended full court," noted Hodges. "They kind of sped us up and our decision-making wasn't as good as it could have been."
The Vaqueros will host first-place Ventura (14-9, 5-0) on Saturday at 5 p.m.
