Oxnard shot a sizzling 59.3% on Saturday night in a 98-66 WSC North win over SBCC at the Sports Pavilion.

The Condors (2-12, 1-1) hit 35-59 from the field and 11-22 from 3-point range. The Vaqueros (1-15, 0-2) made just 32.8% from the floor and 5-22 from long distance.

Oxnard snapped a nine-game losing streak and got a measure of revenge. SBCC topped the Condors 71-64 on Dec. 14 for its only win.

Malik Patton scored 17 points on 7-8 shooting off the bench on a night when six Condors reached double figures.

Peterson Wotkyns paced the Vaqueros (2-15, 0-2) with a season-high 17 points and four rebounds. Carlos Arevalo and Adrian Juilland-Johnson scored 13 apiece with Arevalo grabbing five rebounds. Juilland-Johnson returned from an injury that kept him out of the previous two games and hit 5-8 shots, including 2-3 on 3's.

Oxnard jumped on top 9-0 and stretched it to 16 (29-13) on a 10-footer in the lane by Jonathon Larson with 7:24 to go. The Condors outshot the Vaqueros in the opening half, 55.2 to 35.3%, and led 46-28 at the break.

Lymiere Banks tallied 12 of his 13 points in the first 20 minutes. Larson finished with 12 points, nine rebounds and six assists.

The Condors outrebounded the Vaqueros 43-27, led by Larson (9), Banks (8) and 6-foot-10 Jacob Stucker (7).

"We didn't shoot well and we didn't defend well, giving up too many dribble drives to the rim," said SBCC coach Morris Hodges. "If you're shooting poorly and not defending well, you're going to get beat bad.

"We lost our composure early in the game and our shot selection was not good. We need to make them play more defense. We were taking a lot of quick shots early in the shot clock. We weren't playing smart basketball."

The Vaqueros will travel to Cuesta on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. WSC game.
