Joseph Holden scored 23 of his season-high 25 points in the second half on Friday night as SBCC led by as many as eight points before falling at Moorpark, 87-81.
Holden, playing his final game for the Vaqueros, hit 7-10 from the field in the second half, including 6-8 on 3-pointers.
Adrian Juilland-Johnson flirted with a triple-double, scoring 19 points, grabbing eight rebounds and dishing out seven assists. Peterson Wotkyns added 11 points and a season-high eight rebounds.
Ben Grant scored 16 of his 23 points in the second half for Moorpark. Mason Johnson had 15 points and 16 rebounds.
The Vaqueros (1-25, 0-12) ended the first half on a 9-2 run and took a 40-35 lead at intermission. They extended the margin to eight points (47-39) on a triple by Holden with 16:38 to play.
Moorpark (15-13, 7-5) regained the upper hand with a 12-3 burst, capped by a 3 by Ben Grant that gave the home team a 51-50 advantage.
It was back-and-forth for the next eight minutes until the Raiders broke free with a 9-2 run that put them on top, 78-69, with 2:09 remaining.
SBCC hit 11-22 from 3-point country and shot 42.2% for the game with just eight turnovers. The Raiders shot 38.6% and had only five turnovers, including zero in the second half.
