SANTA BARBARA – The SBCC men's basketball team couldn't keep pace with Allan Hancock on Saturday at the Sports Pavilion, giving up a season-high in points in a 106-77 defeat.

The Vaqueros (7-17, 2-8) were led by point guard Wilfrid Nado's 18 points on 6-of-12 from the field. Forwards Adam Weingard and Walker Grossi both reached double-figures as well with 10 points apiece.

However, it was the defensive end where SBCC struggled, allowing the Bulldogs (14-8, 6-1) to shoot 55.9 percent from the field, 41.2 percent from three-point range (7/17 3FG), and 23-for-32 (71.9%) from the free throw line.

One game after setting a season-low with seven turnovers, the Vaqueros took care of the ball once again. They committed just 11 turnovers, their second-lowest total of the year, but were tripled up in the rebounding department 57-18.

The Bulldogs scored 53 points in each half, taking a 15-point lead into halftime before outscoring the Vaqueros 53-39 over the final 20 minutes.

Luke Sinclair and Jon Pearson chipped in with eight and seven points, respectively. Guard Jaelen Bates finished with six points, five assists and two steals.
