Vaqueros take second in WSC No. 3

Blake McPherson and Felix Mory both shot 2-over-par 74 on Monday, leading SBCC to second place in the third WSC men's golf tournament at Rio Bravo CC in Bakersfield.

Alec Constantinides added a 77 for the Vaqueros, who shot 390 and finished 18 back of the winner, Canyons. The Cougars are 21-0 in WSC action, followed by SBCC (17-4) and Ventura (16-5).

Sidney Wolf of Canyons was the medalist at 2-under 70.

"It was a disappointing day for us," said Vaquero coach Chuck Melendez. "The greens were very tough to putt on. We really need to work on our consistency."

The SBCC Invitational will take place on Sunday and Monday at Marshallia Ranch at Vandenberg AFB and La Purisima in Lompoc.
