Felix Mory fired a 69 for the second straight week but SBCC had its worst showing of the year on Monday in WSC men's golf tournament No. 7 at Marshall Canyon GC in La Verne.

Mory shot 2-under on the par-71 course. In his last three rounds, he's shot 70, 69 and 69. Teammate Carson Curtis tied his season best with a 75 while Blake McPherson and Jake DePass both shot 76 for SBCC, which finished fifth in the eight-team field at 375.

Ed Fiszel of Canyons and Jeremy Choi of Bakersfield were the co-medalists at 67.

Canyons, ranked No. 1 in Southern Cal, carded a season-best 345 (10 under par) to beat Ventura by 18 strokes. The host school, Citrus, was third at 369.

"This was an incredibly do-able course and we did not do well," said coach Chuck Melendez. "Courses like these tend to bring all the teams together. We took a whipping today."

Canyons leads the WSC standings at 47-2 and the sixth-ranked Vaqueros are tied for second with Ventura at 38-11.

The Vaqueros hope to turn things around in WSC No. 8, set for Oakmont CC in Glendale on Monday at 10 a.m.
