Manny Manzone carded a 1-over 73 on Wednesday but SBCC had a tough day, finishing 10th in a 13-team field at the Eagle Classic, hosted by Mt. San Jacinto.

The host Eagles won the tourney with a 376 at par-72 Soboba Springs CC. College of the Desert was second (380) and Orange Coast took third at 381.

Manzone tied for seventh in the 86-player field. Tyler Murata turned in a season-low 78 and Lukas Wedsjoe also shot 78 for the Vaqueros, who totaled 396. Four players tied for medalist honors at 2-under 70.

"We didn't have a good day today," said coach Chuck Melendez. "Jake Ledbetter was having muscle spasms in his lower back and it's amazing he even played the round."

Niels Andersen shot 83 and Ledbetter had an 84, two days after shooting 73 in WSC No. 2 at the Vaqueros' home course, The Alisal Ranch.

SBCC returns to conference play on Monday in WSC No. 3 at Stockdale CC in Bakersfield.
