Niels Andersen and Brant Schenk tied for second with even-par 72s on Monday and SBCC finished fourth in WSC men's golf tournament No. 3 at San Dimas Canyon Golf Course.

Brandon Resnick of Ventura was the medalist at 2-under-par 70. Ventura won its first WSC title of the year with a 7-over 367. The Pirates beat Canyons by seven strokes. Tourney host Citrus was third at 381, one better than SBCC's 382.

Schenk's 72 was a season best. JB Jandro also carded a season-low 74 for the Vaqueros.

"It was a frustrating day," said coach Chuck Melendez. "I told the guys we needed three scores under par because this is a fairly easy course. We were under par as a team through nine holes, then we had some blowup holes. We didn't play well on the back nine.

"That's a big thing in golf – you have to keep your focus and finish strong."

Canyons remained atop the WSC standings at 20-1. Ventura is second at 18-3, followed by the Vaqueros (14-7), Citrus (12-9) and Glendale (11-10).

SBCC will travel to Oceanside on Monday to play in the Southern Cal Preview and WSC No. 4 at El Camino CC.
