Theo Andre-Fouet shot 74 on Monday and Brant Schenk added a 76 as SBCC took sixth in the 19-team Southern Cal Regional Preview men's golf tournament at El Camino CC in Oceanside.

Austin Briggs of Saddleback was the medalist at 71 and Nick Bridge of Saddleback was second with a 72. Brandon Resnick of Ventura was third at 73 and Andre-Fouet, a freshman from France, tied for fourth.

Saddleback was the team champion at 377, edging Orange Coast by a stroke. Riverside was third at 380 and Ventura took fourth at 383. Cypress was fifth (385) and the Vaqueros finished sixth with 391 strokes.

Trent Caraher shot a season-best 77 for Santa Barbara.

WSC No. 4 was also held on Monday and Ventura won for the second straight week with 383 strokes. SBCC was second at 391 and Citrus took third at 394. Canyons, the winner of the first two WSC tourneys, shot 400.

Resnick was the WSC medalist at 73 and Andre-Fouet finished in a three-way tie for second at 74. Schenk tied for fifth and Caraher was eighth.

"The course was difficult and the scores were up today," said SBCC coach Chuck Melendez, whose team had to drive more than three hours to get to tourney in Oceanside, 35 miles north of San Diego. "The greens were real small and a little unfair. We had a few good rounds going and couldn't finish but sixth is pretty good in a strong tourney like this.

"Orange County schools got four of the top five spots and they've probably played this course before."

The Vaqueros will host WSC No. 5 on Monday at Alisal Ranch in Solvang, starting at 10:30 a.m.
