Zach Steinberger fired a season-low 69 as Santa Barbara City College carded a tournament-low 369 as the Vaqueros captured WSC No. 6 at Antelope Valley Country Club.
Steinberger, a freshman from Dos Pueblos High, topped his previous best, which he shot last week, by five strokes. He tied for first with Joey Herrera of Ventura and James Comerford of Canyons.
SBCC used a balanced attack as they were the only team in the field to have all six players shoot under 80 on the day.
Canyons finished second in the event with a 376 while Ventura fired a 381 on the day.
Gabe Cloquet shot a 73 and Jack Heavey shot 74 to round out the top three for SBCC.
It was the first WSC win for the Vaqueros, who moved into second place. Canyons is first at 45-3, followed by SBCC (40-8), Ventura (38-10) and Hancock (27-21).
The Vaqueros will be back in action next Monday for WSC No. 7 at Oakmont Country Club in Glendale.
