Dine shoots 76; Vaqueros take fourth in WSC No. 9

Felix Dine turned in a 76 and Zach Steinberger shot 78 on Monday as SBCC took fourth in the ninth WSC men's golf tournament at Santa Maria Country Club.

Dine, a freshman from Sweden, tied for 10th in the 54-man field and Steinberger tied for 15th. Jack Heavey added a 79 for the Vaqueros, who finished fourth with 396 strokes, one better than Ventura.

Canyons shot a season-best 6-over 366 for its seventh WSC title of the year. Tourney host Hancock was second at 380, followed by Glendale at 386.

Jones Comerford of Canyons claimed medalist honors for the second straight week with a 3-under 69. The Cougars top the WSC standings at 69-3. SBCC is second at 55-17, one game ahead of Ventura (54-18).

The Vaqueros will host the Sandpiper Invitational on Monday, April 9, at Sandpiper, starting at 11 a.m. Sandpiper will also be the site of the 36-hole CCCAA State Championships on May 14.
