SOLVANG, CA – The Santa Barbara City College Men's Golf team hosted Monday's WSC match at Alisal Ranch Golf Course, finishing 2nd with a score of 393.

College of the Canyons (COC) blew away the competition shooting 360, including the top 3 individual scorers. Beyond them, SBCC was the best of all other schools, finishing 2 strokes ahead of Citrus and 4 ahead of both Glendale and Bakersfield.

"We practiced and focused on our mental game all last week," head coach Ernie Carrasco said. The Vaqueros finished 6th at the previous Monday's WSC match, so the mental practice surely paid off in this week's performance.

Vicente Rodriguez once again shot below a 75 for the third time in the last 4 matches. His team-leading 74 was the 4th best score among all 48 golfers, and best among all non-COC golfers.

Eric Means and Jacob Aaron both finished below 80, tapping in at 77 and 78, respectively.

Michael Gentry and Theodore Lohrer rounded out the scoring at 82 apiece.

The Vaqueros will tee it up next Monday at San Dimas looking for a similar result.
