SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – The SBCC men's soccer team had another strong showing at home on Tuesday night, downing Santa Monica 4-1 behind three second half goals.

After the Corsairs (5-7-3, 1-3-1) took the lead in the 10th minute, the Vaqueros (9-3-3, 3-1-1) would respond with four different goalscorers making their mark on the box score. Forward Will Demirkol equalized in the final minute of the opening half, giving defender Sam Pinto his first assist of the year.

The Vaqueros would explode in the second half, scoring three goals in the span of 23 minutes. Forward Bart Muns was set up by midfielder Jake Dunn for his team-leading 10th goal of the season. He becomes the first person in the Western State Conference to reach 10 goals. Muns now also leads the WSC with four game-winners.

Three minutes later, defender Juan Zarate put away his third goal of 2021, giving Demirkol an assist. Dunn later nabbed a goal of his own in the 80th minute courtesy of Zarate's first assist of the year.

Goalkeeper Sunny Dhaliwal had five saves for the fifth straight game.

SBCC remains undefeated at home (7-0-1) through eight matches at La Playa Stadium, doing so for the second time since the 2013 season. The Vaqueros have lost just one game over their last eight and will look to continue their home dominance against Allan Hancock this Friday at 7:00 p.m.
