MONTEREY PARK, CA - The SBCC Men's Soccer team played a thrilling game that ended with a 2-1 win against East Los Angeles College. Demonstrating a solid grip on the ball and commendable build-up play, the Vaqueros also managed to generate a substantial offensive presence, leading to the triumphant result.

The match saw several standout performances. Goalkeeper Marco Rotundo made some crucial saves, ensuring the team's lead remained intact. Defender Simon Carricaburu played a pivotal role in holding the backline strong, while midfielder Aiden Tapia-Palacios controlled the tempo and flow of the game. Upfront, forwards Charles Jay Retzer and Brandon Garcia de la Fuente showcased their dynamic partnership, proving to be a real threat to the opposition.

Post-match, head coach Alexander Zermeno voiced his pride in the team, saying, "I'm proud of the men; they executed in all aspects of the game offensively, defensively, and transitionally." He further added, "Whenever you have 4-year coaches in the building, the guys always step up their game. I believe Brandon and Charlie played with that chip on their shoulder to put on a show for them."

The Vaqueros are now 3-2-3 overall and shift their focus to two upcoming home matches, and four of their next five at La Playa Field. They are set to face off against Citrus College on Tuesday at 7 pm, followed by a clash against Glendale on Friday, also at 7 pm. Fans are eagerly awaiting these matchups, hoping for the winning form to continue.
