Grossmont took all three doubles sets and five of six singles on Thursday to spoil the return of SBCC men's tennis with an 8-1 win in El Cajon.
Jun Zhao got the only point for Santa Barbara when Gabe De Jesus retired halfway through the first set with Zhao leading 3-1. Jeffrey McDaniel had the closest match of the day, losing to David Colera at No. 6 singles, 7-5, 7-5.
The Vaqueros will play the next two days on the road – Friday at San Diego City (2 p.m.) and Saturday at San Diego Mesa (1 p.m.).
