SBCC whips Glendale 8-1 for second straight win

SBCC took five of six singles matches and all three doubles on Tuesday to beat Glendale 8-1 in a WSC men's tennis match on the road.

It was the second straight win for the Vaqueros (3-5, 3-1), who moved into second place in the Western State Conference, one game behind Ventura (4-0).

Sasha Hedberg and Emerson Sekban both won 6-3, 6-1 to get the visiting Vaqueros going in singles. Derek Lipanski, Parker Turek and Willem Decker added straight-set wins to secure the victory.

Hedberg is a perfect 4-0 in singles and improved to 3-0 in doubles as he and Turek won the No. 2 set, 8-2.

The Vaqueros open the second round of WSC play by hosting L.A. Pierce on Tuesday at 2 p.m.
