Ventura took five of six singles on Thursday on the way to an 8-1 WSC men's tennis win over visiting SBCC.
The Pirates improved to 8-0 overall and 5-0 in the WSC. The Vaqueros (4-6, 4-2) are in second place. Ventura has three conference matches left and Santa Barbara has two.
Ryan Chung, a freshman from Santa Barbara High, got the point for the Vaqueros, beating Leo Santos 6-2, 6-4 at No. 4 singles.
