Vaqueros blank Victor Valley for second straight win

SBCC made the long trek to Victorville pay off on Tuesday with a 9-0 men's tennis win over new WSC member Victor Valley.

Diego Santos, a freshman from Porto Alegre, Brazil, made his season debut and won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3 singles and 8-0 at No. 2 doubles with Adolfo Ortega. Emerson Sekban and Spencer Ekola took the No. 1 and 2 singles matches by scores of 6-2, 6-2 and 6-0, 6-0.

Santa Barbara improved to 2-5 and 1-3 in WSC action. The Rams are 0-4 and 0-2.

The Vaquero singles players all swept their best two-of-three set matches and won 72 games while dropping only 11.

SBCC travels to L.A. Pierce on Thursday for a 2 p.m. WSC match.
