College of the Desert took the first three doubles points on Saturday and went on to defeat SBCC 6-3 in a men's tennis match at Pershing Park.

The Vaqueros (0-2) won the last three singles matches. Albert Chami won in straight sets (6-4, 6-1) at No. 4, Sebastian Moenster downed Joau Prado (6-4, 4-1, retired) at No. 5 and Johannes Bunse won a marathon at No. 6, beating Marcus Simon 6-3, 3-6, 10-5 (super tiebreaker).

"Sebastian's win at No. 5 was a great match," said first-year coach Chris McBride. "He was down and came back to win the first set, then took a commanding lead in the second before his opponent had to retire."

The Roadrunners (1-1) are coached by former SBCC women's coach Ken Thomas.

The Vaqueros will travel to Norwalk to take on Cerritos on Tuesday at 2 p.m.
