SANTA BARBARA, CA - Santa Barbara City College Men's Tennis hosted Riverside City College in a preseason contest.

The Tigers played at a high level in the doubles side, coming away with all 3 points. Vaqueros Daniel Truong and Connor Schloemer competed well and put solid pressure on their opponents.

The Vaqueros established good rhythm in many of the singles matches. Freshman #1 Mauritz Seitz was cool, calm, and collected in his 6-1, 6-3 victory.

"Mauritz makes his opponents work so hard to win points because his defense is stellar," head coach Danny Echt said. "Today, the top Vaquero was able to combine the ability to extend rallies along with intelligent serving. Seitz was effective at taking advantage of offensive opportunities that he earned in the match."

Sophomore Daniel Truong came off of a poised performance with a 3-set singles win and voiced positivity about the Vaqueros:

"I was incredibly happy with the energy of all matches, especially singles. I felt especially good when I heard the cheering of the players who didn't get a chance to play but still brought the energy. Our team is right on the verge of a victory, and rounding out our doubles play will do just that. I'm excited for the future of this team."

The Vaqueros are 0-1 on the season and host Saddlebback on Thursday, February 15th at 2 pm.
