SBCC track and field has impressive showing at Redlands Invitational
The University of Redlands track & field teams hosted the annual Redlands Invitational on Ashel Cunningham Track on Friday evening with the largest number of competitors in the event's history.

In chilly, breezy conditions and after nearly a five-hour bus trip, the Santa Barbara City College Men's Track and Field squad racked up over 20 season-best marks.

Among those who set season best marks at the race were Miguel Lazano, who notched personal bests in the shot put and javelin.  Three throwers (Miguel Lozano, Nico Garcia and David Sweeten) combined for six personal bests on the day.

Sayeed Holtzclaw scored two season-best marks (200m and 400m) and Ethan Westemeier collected the only win on the day for the Vaqueros, winning his heat of the 110m hurdles.

On the women's side, Alana Ochoa and Marie Cochet both notched season best marks in the hammer throw. Ochoa improved on her #3 SBCC all-time mark (41.03m) and Cochet moved on to the list at the #10 spot (31.27m). Ochoa also placed 2nd overall in the discus. Marie Kimumba placed 4th and 5th in the 200m and 400m, respectively.

SBCC will return to the track on March 24 when they are slated to compete in the Westmont Collegiate Classic starting at 11 a.m.
