Nnoli wins triple jump in WSC Relays

Brian Nnoli and Nicolas Murillo-Perez went 1-2 in the triple jump on Friday in the WSC Relays at West L.A. College.

Nnoli, a sophomore from San Marcos High, finished third in the state TJ last year and earned All-American honors. On Friday, he jumped 14.00 meters to win the triple jump. Murillo-Perez, a freshman from San Marcos, was second at 13.23 meters.

Lam Nguyen, a sophomore from Dos Pueblos, took fifth in the long jump with a personal best of 6.10 meters. Kyle Cozza was first in Flight 2 of the long jump with a leap of 6.41 meters.

"This was our first team competition after the rain prevented most of our athletes from competing in the Sunshine Open at Westmont College," said coach Scott Santella. "Injury and eligibility prevented a good portion of the team from competing but the men competed well."

The Vaqueros will compete in the WSC North meet on Friday at Ventura College, starting at 10 a.m.
