Brian Nnoli and Kyle Cozza recorded first-place jumps on Friday, leading the SBCC men's track & field team at the Moorpark Open.

Nnoli captured the triple jump in 13.69m (44-11) and is unbeaten in 2019. He ran a hand-timed split of 51.1 in the 4x400 for the fastest time of the year. Nicolas Murillo-Perez was third in the TJ (13.20m) and led off both relays. The 4x100 relay took second and the 4x400 relay was third.

Cozza, a freshman from Spokane, Wash., improved on every attempt in the long jump on his way to a PR of 6.69m (21-11.5).

John Esteban Carlos, a freshman from Dos Pueblos High, was second in the hammer (30.53m, 100-2) and third in the shot put (12.41m, 40-8.75).

"The relay teams ran well and continue to improve despite the heavy wind and the throwers had a big day in the discus with everyone throwing their personal best," said head coach Scott Santella.

Drew Klassen, a freshman from San Marcos, was third in the discus (37.01m), Nicolas Garcia was fifth (34.00) and Esteban Carlos took seventh (33.41).

The Vaqueros will compete in the Westmont Collegiate Classic on Saturday at 11 a.m.
