Santa Monica rallied past visiting SBCC 3-1 on Friday night to remain unbeaten in WSC men's volleyball action. The scores were 18-25, 25-18, 25-18, 25-19.

The Vaqueros fell to 9-5 overall and 4-3 in conference. The first-place Corsairs won their 10th straight to improve to 12-1 and 7-0.

Taylor McCluskey led the Vaqueros with nine kills while Jaiden Pina had eight kills, six digs and hit .538. Keaton Arutian dished out 18 assists and dug seven balls. Casey Alper had 14 digs and Shaft Wesley notched four blocks.

"The difference in the match was serving and passing," said SBCC coach Matt Jones. "We've been solid in serve receive the last few weeks but we faced a good serving team tonight and we had trouble passing.

"They were sloppy with their serves in the first set, then they got hot. We had a couple of leads in the second set (including 18-17) but they finished on an 8-0 run."

Taylor Tattersall had 16 kills for the Corsairs, who dominated in service aces 14-2.

The Vaqueros will host L.A. Pierce on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
