Haward Gomes notched a season-high 14 kills with nine digs on Wednesday night as SBCC cruised to a 25-12, 25-22, 25-11 WSC men's volleyball victory at L.A. Trade Tech.

Gomes, a 6-2 freshman outside hitter from Shingle Springs, Calif., hit .400 and Matt Hall added 10 kills with a .500 hitting percentage and four blocks as the Vaqueros (9-8, 4-6) snapped a three-game losing streak. The Beavers fell to 0-10 and 0-12.

Kyle Smiley had 18 assists and Jonathan Baldwin handed out 13. Matt Bohorquez was the No. 1 digger with 13.

"We had a few bad stretches where we didn't pass particularly well," said third-year coach Matt Jones. "Their float serves were pretty low to the net and that was causing us problems. Overall, it was a pretty clean match."

The Vaqueros will play their final two matches at home on Friday vs. El Camino at 6 p.m. and Friday, April 15 vs. L.A. Pierce.
