2023 Men's Volleyball Team honoring their sophomores.
The SBCC Men's Volleyball team made their mark this year. They've been dedicated to each other since they arrived in August and it showed in their stats at season end. They played a tough San Diego Mesa team and took them all the way to five sets, eventually falling 2-3 (25-17, 26-24, 20-25, 15-25, 9-15). "We played some great volleyball throughout the match, but unfortunately just couldn't string together three set wins. Kudos to San Diego Mesa for fighting back after being down 0-2 and outlasting us," said Coach Jordon Dyer.

"If you take a look at our 17 matches this season, only one match went to 5 sets. San Diego Mesa had six 5-set matches during their season and that stamina showed last night. Our team fought from the first point to the last point, really tough way to lose when everyone is all in and we come up just short. Fortunately we all can say that we left everything on the floor and San Diego Mesa proved to be the better team last night."

"I told the team that our playoff loss isn't what defined us this year, what defined us was turning around a program that went 5-12 (3-9 in conference) the previous season into an 11-6 (8-4 in conference) top-5 team in the state. This team created a winning culture and has set a foundation for the future years. Shoutout to the sophomores who stuck it out, they've undoubtedly left their fingerprint on this program."
