Kunes takes fifth in WSC Preview

SBCC's Kaleb Kunes finished fifth in the WSC Preview men's cross country race on Friday at Bonelli Park in San Dimas. He covered the hilly 4-mile course in 22:24 on a warm day with temperatures in the 90s.

Glendale won the team title with 32 points, easily beating Bakersfield (109) and Ventura (111). The Vaqueros were eighth.

Glendale's Raymond Lopez was the individual champ in 21:00 in a field of 97 runners.

Charles Perry placed 30th for SBCC in 23:55. Michael Cohen was 66th (26:24), Jordan Shinn was 74th (27:37) and Orion Kuang took 86th (30:00). Max Cardenas ran 30:28 and Giel Ketelslegers 31:39.

The Vaqueros will run in the Tour de Cuesta on Friday at Fairbanks Park in San Luis Obispo.
