SBCC's Michael Cohen ran a season-best 23:00 on the 4-mile course on Friday in the Southern Cal Men's Cross Country Championships at Don Knabe Regional Park in Cerritos.

Cohen placed 159th in a field of 193 runners. He shaved 35 seconds off his time in the WSC Championships two weeks ago and ran 62 seconds faster than he had on the same course at the Southern Cal Preview on Sept. 14.

"Michael ran a brave and aggressive race," said SBCC coch Scott Fickerson. "He stayed tough and finished with his fastest time ever. He worked so hard this season … I'm glad to see it all pay off with huge improvements."

Mt. San Antonio won the So Cal title, beating Glendale 59-97 in the 28-team field. Salvador Capetillo of Mt. SAC ran away with the individual title in 19:01, beating runner-up Carson Bix of El Camino by 39 seconds.
