SBCC edged East L.A. 3-2 on Friday morning, then benefitted from the time limit in an 8-6, six-inning win over Antelope Valley at the Golden West Tournament.

Madison McNamee went 2-for-3 in each game and had a two-run single in the second inning of Game 2. She raised her batting average to .433. The freshman from Cabrillo High returned to the pitching circle in the second inning vs. AVC and earned the victory to improve to 6-2.

Rebecca Pullen (4-2) pitched 6 2/3 innings in the opener, which was called by the time limit with two outs in the bottom of the seventh. Shortstop Delainy Ogan had an RBI single in a three-run second inning and stole home for the winning run.

The Vaqueros (10-4) scored eight runs in the first three innings to build an 8-4 lead vs. the Marauders (6-6). Alyssa-Rae Jewell went 2-2 with one RBI, two runs and two walks. Sydney Townes was 2-3 with a double and two runs.

Antelope Valley scored three times in the top of the seventh to go ahead 9-8 but the game was called with two outs by the 1-hour, 50-minute time limit, causing the score to revert back to the end of the sixth with the Vaqueros leading 8-6.

SBCC will play two more games on Saturday at Golden West in Huntington Beach, taking on Southwestern at 1 p.m. and Golden West at 5 p.m.
