SBCC softball pitcher Madison McNamee was named female Athlete of the Week on Monday by the Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table during their weekly luncheon at Harry's Plaza Café.
The freshman from Cabrillo High threw a perfect game in a 13-0 win at Oxnard last Tuesday. She struck out 10 of the 15 batters she faced in the five-inning game and went 2-2 at the plate with 2 RBIs and 2 runs.
McNamee (13-3) has allowed just one run in the last 35.1 innings, lowering her ERA to 2.05.
The Vaqueros are averaging 8.3 runs per game and rank fifth in the state with 248 runs. They've only given up 85. Monica Salas is second in the WSC Gold in batting (.480). She and Christal Vierra are 1-2 in RBIs with 33 and 32, respectively.
SBCC (23-7, 7-2) will host Moorpark (17-5, 7-1) in a first-place showdown in the WSC Gold Division on Tuesday. Start times for the doubleheader are 1 and 3 p.m.
