Isabella Gregson and Rebecca Pullen combined on a one-hitter on Thursday and SBCC routed L.A. Valley 9-1 in a nonconference softball game at Valley Glen. The game ended after five innings due to the 8-run rule.

Shortstop Alyssa Richter went 2-4 with a double and two-run triple in a four-run first inning. Maggie Jackson and Lauren Hope Ballard were 2-3 for the Vaqueros (2-0).

The Monarchs (0-6) have been outscored 75-7 this year. They had one hit, a first-inning double, and six errors on Thursday.

Gregson, a freshman from Bishop Diego, went three innings in her first college start in the circle, allowing a first-inning double with two strikeouts and no walks.

SBCC is playing five road games in six days. They'll play two on Friday at San Diego City, taking on the Knights at 11 a.m. and Imperial Valley at 1 p.m. They're slated to play at Santiago Canyon on Saturday at 1 p.m.
