The Cuesta Cougars capitalized on three SBCC errors and three wild pitches to top Santa Barbara City College 8-0 in five innings at Pershing Park.

Cuesta (8-12, 3-0 WSC North) started the scoring in the first inning when Dayna Manser singled with one out in the first, stole second and scored on an error.

The Cougars added four runs in the second, all coming after there were two outs and nobody on base.  Cuesta strung together four straight hits and a walk before SBCC pitcher Isabella Gregson stranded two runners when she induced a comebacker.

Cuesta added a single run in the fourth on a triple and sacrifice fly and then added the final three runs in the top fifth.  The first two batters doubled and singled then came around to score when a bunt was thrown away and Gregson uncorked a wild pitch with a runner on third for the righth run to score.

The Vaqueros (8-9, 0-3 WSC North) had six hits over five innings of play, led by Jasmine Manson, who went 2-2 with a double.  Centerfielder Chloe Wells went 2-3 with two singles for the Vaqueros.

Gregson went the distance in the circle for SBCC, logging five innings while allowing eight hits and eight runs (four earned).

SBCC is back in action Thursday when they take on Oxnard.  First pitch is scheduled for 2:30.
