SBCC softball star Sloane Greeley commits to Marymount California University

Santa Barbara City College sophomroe Sloane Greeley announced that she has committed to California Marymount University as the next step in her athletic and academic career. Greeley just finished a fantastic 2018 season for the Vaqueros, earning first-team All-WSC North honors.

"I am thankful for the opportunity SBCC has given me," said Greeley. "SBCC was the best foundation for the start of my softball and academic career. Being a student-athlete at SBCC has opened a lot of windows for my future. I am looking forward to finishing my education in digital communication at Marymount California University whiling getting the opportunity to play softball as well."

Greeley led the Vaqueros in many offensive categories in 2018, including RBIs (17), extra base hits (10), doubles (8), hits (33) and stolen bases (6). She was also a valuable leader and versatile player, able to play multiple positions for head coach Justine Bosio.

"Sloane has been a great asset to our team the past few years," said Bosio. "She is a hard worker and has the drive to continue to better herself.  I think she will have a great success at Marymount."
 

In her two years at SBCC, Greeley hit .289 (59-204) with 33 RBIs and 39 runs scored.

Marymount California is an NAIA school located in Palos Verdes and is a member of the competitive California Pacific Conference.

Greeley added, "The real world may seem intimidating but I know I will be prepared for it from my experiences at SBCC and my new experiences at Marymount California University."
