Moorpark tops Vaqueros 5-2

Moorpark took a 5-0 lead in the fifth inning on Tuesday and went on to beat SBCC 5-2 in a WSC softball game at Moorpark.

Kylee Beccari was the winning pitcher, giving up two runs on six hits with six strikeouts and three walks. Paige Powell tossed the first five innings for the Vaqueros and suffered the loss.

The Vaqueros are 4-11 and 1-2 while the Raiders are 12-8 and 3-2.

Moorpark scored four times in the fourth on three hits and three errors.

The Vaqueros got their runs in the sixth when Janet Salas singled, Samantha Yanes walked and Emily LoneTree singled to load the bases. After a forceout at home, Kayana Diaz delivered a two-run single.

The Vaqueros will play at Santa Monica on Thursday.
