Citrus scores three in the fifth to edge Vaqueros, 5-4

SBCC took a 4-2 lead in the top of the fifth on Friday, then Citrus responded with three in the bottom of the fifth to pull out a 5-4 softball win in Glendora.

Emily LoneTree went 2-2 with a two-run homer for the Vaqueros (4-13). Her two-run shot in the fourth tied the game at 2-2. Kayana Diaz and Hannah Weaver both went 2-for-3.

The Vaqueros went ahead 4-2 with two unearned runs in the fifth. Samantha Yanes scored when Shelby Featherston reached on an error. Featherston went to second on the throw home and scored on Weaver's RBI single to right.

Emily Paredez delivered the go-ahead hit for Citrus (8-12) with a two-out, two-run double to left in the fifth inning.

The Vaqueros are playing five games in five days this week. They'll play two on Saturday at San Diego City College, taking on the Knights at 9 a.m. and Imperial Valley at 11:10 a.m.
