Antelope Valley used a 24-14 fourth-quarter advantage to turn back SBCC 61-52 on Friday at the L.A. Valley Crossover women's basketball tourney.

The Vaqueros led 28-25 at halftime, went ahead by nine four minutes into the third period and took a 38-37 lead into the last quarter. The Vaqueros are 1-3 while AVC is 4-3.

Shantanel Bivens led the Marauders with 22 points and 14 rebounds. Meagan Moore scored 10 for the Vaqueros and Aaliyah Pauling had seven points, five rebounds, four assists and four steals. Hannah Rogers hauled in nine rebounds and Diamond Alexander had seven points and five boards.

There were nine ties and 17 lead changes.

"We have to work on sustaining leads," said Vaquero coach Sandrine Krul. "It was back and forth until the 3-minute mark of the fourth quarter and we turned it over three times in key possessions.

"This team is coachable and we'll continue to get better. The good news is everything is fixable in practice."

The Vaqueros will take the next two weeks off, then travel to the Victor Valley Crossover. They'll take on a new program, Copper Mountain of Joshua Tree, Calif., on Saturday, Dec. 2 at 1 p.m.
