Diamond Alexander posted career highs with 22 points and 10 rebounds on Sunday and SBCC cruised to a 74-23 women's basketball win over Imperial Valley in the Victor Valley Crossover.

Alexander, a 5-11 sophomore forward from Inglewood, hit 9-of-15 from the field and recorded her first double-double in just 17 minutes. Hannah Rogers also had a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds.

The Vaqueros (3-3) led 24-11 after one quarter and 50-18 at the half. They shut out the Arabs 14-0 in the final quarter. They outshot Imperial Valley 37 to 15 percent and dominated the backboards, 63-30.

Santa Barbara was missing two key players with injuries – leading scorer Aaliyah Pauling and center Kaysie Back.

The Vaqueros had a stellar weekend, beating Copper Mountain by 45 (67-22) on Saturday and IVC by 51.

"We had a very good defensive weekend," noted coach Sandrine Krul. "All the players stepped up, from the starters to the bench players. We did a great job of building on our defensive and offensive philosophies when players were out with injuries."

Maaria Jaakkola filled up the stat sheet with six points, five rebounds, four assists and four steals. Holly Barrera added six points, five rebounds and four assists while Jennae Mayberry grabbed seven rebounds.

SBCC opens play in the Hancock Tournament on Thursday, taking on Sequoias at 7 p.m.
