SANTA BARBARA, CA – The SBCC women's basketball team blew out Oxnard 83-49 for its second-largest win of the season, using a huge third quarter and a balanced effort on both ends.
Four different Vaqueros (11-9, 4-2) reached double-digits, led by Isabella Jensen Williams with 13. Kiani Rojas (12), Aislinn McKelvy (11) and Natalie Bautista (11) all scored in double-figures as well. SBCC had one of its most efficient shooting days of the season, knocking down 48.5 percent of its shots.
Jensen Williams had another well-rounded stat line with eight rebounds and six assists. Five of her assists came in the first quarter alone as SBCC got out to a 25-15 lead.
A sluggish second quarter saw both teams manage eight points each, but the Vaqueros enjoyed one of their best periods of the season with a huge 33-13 edge in the third to blow the game open. SBCC simply couldn't miss, going 11-of-14 (.786) from the field and 5-for-8 (.625) on threes.
The 83 points, .485 field goal percentage and 34-point win were second only to SBCC's dominant win over LA Pierce on Jan. 11 in which they won 88-47 and shot 48.6 percent.
