Melissa Jimenez

Melissa returns for her second stint as assistant coach in 2018-19. She played for SBCC during the 2004-06 seasons and her teams went 39-23. She was an All-WSC player, as well as the recipient of the prestigious “Vaquero Award.” After her illustrious career at SBCC, she transferred to Cal State Monterey  Bay, where she lettered in basketball.

“Melissa adds many dimensions to our staff, she is the nurturer of the program and she knows how to motivate players to better themselves as well as the team," said Coach Krul. "I am extremely excited to see how Coach G continues to inspire and facilitate our players on defense. She definitely lives our motto of MTXE."

Melissa also serves as a motivational speaker to high school students and teaches them the path to what it takes to be a collegiate student-athlete. She has presented many seminars on how to get on the “Road to Success” as a student athlete in Ventura County and Santa Barbara County.

Melissa is a graduate of CSUN, earning her degree in Kinesiology. She received her Master's from Fresno Pacific in 2014 in Physical Education and she currently teaches spinning and works as an instructor  in SBCC's Life Fitness Center.

Melissa resides in Ventura with her husband, Danny Jimenez, and their young children, Gavin and Isabella.
