WSC North Coach of the Year  2006, 2010
Pat Moorhouse Women's Coach of the Year at SBCC 2019-20

The 2022-23 campaign was the 19th year for Sandrine Krul as head coach. Since her first year with the team in 2004-05, she is 291-228 overall and 115-89 in the WSC North.

With star sophomore Isabella Jensen Williams leading the way in 2022-23, the Vaqueros finished 15-14 overall and 7-5 in the WSC North, qualifying for regionals for the second time in three years. It was also the fifth time in seven seasons that they won at least 15 games and finished above .500.

After the 2020-21 season was wiped out by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Vaqueros went 10-16 with in 2021-22 with a roster fully comprised of promising freshmen players.

The Vaqueros had to win their last game in the 2019-20 regular season to qualify for the Southern Cal Regional for the first time in seven years. They beat Hancock 65-60 and hosted L.A. Valley in a first-round playoff game. The Vaqueros went 15-9, tying for the second-fewest losses iin Krul's tenure.

She notched the 250th win of her SBCC career on Feb. 19, 2019 when the Vaqueros beat Allan Hancock 60-55 at home. In 15 seasons, she's 251-189 overall and 100-72 in the WSC North.

In 2016-17, Destinee King became a two-time All-State performer after leading the WSC North in scoring (19.0 ppg) and ranking second in rebounds (11.1).

Krul has built Women's Basketball into one of the top teams in the state. She's had four 20-win seasons, including 2006-07 when SBCC went 23-8 and won the WSC North title with an 11-1 record. Krul was the WSC North Coach of the Year in 2006 and 2010.

SBCC qualified for the Southern Cal Regional seven times in eight years from 2006 to 2013. The Vaqueros snapped Ventura's 121-game WSC home winning streak on Jan. 15, 2013 with a 70-67 victory.

The goal for this year is to continue to build a program that is based on class, discipline, and pride. Each team member must strive to reach each core value for success in the classroom and on the basketball court. The core values are Conviction, Over Learn, Adaptability, Consistency, Honesty and the team's mantra of MTXE (Mental Toughness Extra Effort).

"Coach K" is also proud of her players' academic success. Many have received academic or athletic scholarships to 4-year schools and the Vaqueros have a 97-percent graduation rate in the past eight years. "My goal is to make sure every participant has a positive experience either as a player or as a redshirt," she said.

Krul was a first-team All-State performer at  L.A. Valley College. She finished her career at Cal State San Bernardino, where she earned All-Conference honors.

She received her BA in Kinesiology from CSUN and graduated with honors with a Master's in Education from Azusa Pacific University. She teaches Introduction to Kinesiology and Cardio Boxing.
