Carolin Chang shot a 3-under 69 on Saturday and SBCC dominated the field in the Desert Classic women's golf tournament at Indian Canyon GC in Palm Springs.
The Vaqueros shot 302 for a two-day total of 600. They topped the seven-team field by 33 strokes with WSC rival Citrus taking second at 633 and Mt. SAC finishing third at 641.
Chang won the tourney at 4-under 140. Teammate Vanesa Villa shot 75 on Saturday and tied for second at 146. They both made the all-tournament team for the Vaqueros, who've won their first three tournaments and are 21-0 on the season.
"Another good tourney for us and I'm very proud of our players," said 16th-year SBCC coach Chuck Melendez. "This is a talented team and the sky's the limit. We just have to work hard to get better to be the best we can be. I'm looking for bigger and better things from all our players."
The Vaqueros will host WSC No. 2 on Monday, Sept. 14 at the Santa Barbara Golf Club.
