Carolin Chang carded a 1-over 73 to take second place on Monday and SBCC finished third in for the second straight time in a WSC women's golf tournament at San Dimas Canyon GC.

The Vaqueros totaled 336 in WSC No. 4, just seven strokes behind Canyons. The Cougars won their second straight conference tourney with a 329, four strokes better than Citrus. SBCC, Canyons and Citrus are tied for first at 16-4.

Lexandra So of Citrus was the medalist at 1-under 71.

Santa Barbara (48-4) was missing two of its top three players – Isabella Doub (personal reasons) and Vanesa Villa (injury). Natalya Cruz placed sixth with an 83.

"It was a disappointing day," said coach Chuck Melendez. "Our effort was there. This course always has the highest stroke average and it was the first time our players had seen it."

The Vaqueros will play in WSC No. 5 on Monday at Kern River GC in Bakersfield.
