Carolin Chang took medalist honors with a 3-over 75 on Monday and SBCC remained unbeaten with a 31-stroke women's golf victory in WSC No. 5 at San Dimas Canyon Golf Course.

Chang had two birdies en route to her fifth tourney win of the season. Vanessa Watkins was fourth at 78 and Daniela Ruffo shot her season low of 81. Ruffo, a freshman from Coronado, Calif., shaved 11 strokes off her last round.

The Vaqueros (58-0) totaled 321 strokes. Citrus was second at 352 and Bakersfield took third at 379. Santa Barbara, the defending state champion, is 30-0 in conference play.

"We had a pretty good day on a tough course," said coach Chuck Melendez. "Daniela did a great job of bouncing back with a season-low 81.

"We're just want to play steady and keep progressing by bringing our numbers down each match. This team is very self-motivated and it's a joy to coach them."

The Vaqueros will play in WSC No. 6 on Monday at Kern River GC in Bakersfield with a shotgun start at 11 a.m.
